Waste PR Bottle Stopper

This is the result of all my casting left overs. I also segmented this (of course it was because I had poured epoxy resin in it and it fell apart) but it turned out good. I learned not to turn between centers 1st., I lost alot of the height of the top trying to get rid of the center drill mark.

I'm not sure I understand why the turning came apart?

Did you use a threaded piece to hold the blank while turning?

I'm not sure I know why either. The epoxy layer should have stuck well to the resin but for some reason if failed. I used a home made mandrel to turn the blank. (a 3/8-16 x 4" bolt with a nut and washer welded on the thread and the head cut off the bolt so I could chuck it up)
