Well lets hope the tree survives long enough to die of natural causes instead of being chopped down:wink:

That's impressive!
Curious of species - Anyone know?

Nevermind... just re-read the post.. Rimu tree

Dacrydium cupressinum, commonly known as rimu, is a large evergreen coniferous tree endemic to the forests of New Zealand. It is a member of the southern conifer group, the podocarps. The former name "red pine" has fallen out of common use.

Ok Mal....That's you officially off my Christmas card list !!:biggrin:

HaHa .... I actually love trees .... we have three 80' Yellow Cedars on our city-sized lot and an old White Dogwood (the provincial emblem is the Dogwood flower) which finally got seriously dismembered in a recent windstorm. I have been nurturing it along for 40 years in spite of my wife's petulant pleas to euthanize it and put it out of its misery !
