Walnut & Curly Maple Peppermills

Last week, I turned a couple of peppermills with the "antique" style mechanisms. The mills were from PSI. I recessed the mill on the Walnut and top mounted the curly maple mill. Both are finished inside and out with TY Oil Finish which is a food safe finish.
I turned these to use as demo pieces as I was the demonstrator at our woodturning club's monthly meeting.

I also demonstrated the hammered copper band I used to embellish a cherry bowl a couple of months ago as well as turned whistles.

The three mini demo model worked well for our demo time as far as time was concerned. I was showing more of my processes rather than turning an item from start to finish. Everyone seemed to like the demo!

Those look beautiful! Walnut and maple always go together well. I should try getting some of those sometime.

I like the detail work. Nice job! I've seen lots of demos and I like your approach. I don't think anyone wants to sit and watch someone make sawdust, they want to learn how to do something they don't already know.
