Hi all,
This bowl was turned in a piece of walnut that I have since long. Yesterday I was cleaning up my shop, and found it in a corner of the shop. I could'nt resist, stop the cleaning, go to the bandsaw to cut of the splitted parts, and put it on the lathe. While turning I discover a pretty figure with a large knot on one side, even the color looks great at my eyes.
This is what coming from the lathe,
Upside view
Underside view.
After sanding until 1200, I've finished it with 2 coats of Sumatra oil, that gives a nice satin finish.
Hope you like it, comments as allways welcome,
clem
