Hello All
Here is my second attempt at a wavy blank. This time I used Bubinga and Avodire I like the color contrast better then my last wavy blank. The kit is a Wood River Ultra Cigar that Evelyn picked up at Woodcraft while she as out seeing a client. I like the kit really classy. The finish is 6 or 7 coats of WTF, this is the first time I've use WTF and I like the finish it gives. Overall I happy with the way it came out. As always any and all comments are welcome.

I like it. How thick was the inlay sheet, if I may ask? Also, did you steam or boil the inlay before you did the glue up to get it to curve easily and also fill in any small irregularities?

Thanks Steve for you comments. The center strip is about 0.091 I really didn't measure the strip before I cut it just guessed and it was a bit to wide so I have to boil it (about 15 minutes) and clamped it in my vise for 3 days and after that I took it out and let it dry for another day it kept it shape. Here are a few photo's of what it looked like.

Thanks.... So it was about 1/2 way between an 1/8th and a 1/16th of an inch. I just built a jig to use my router to plane down thin strips to a nice even thickness, my bandsaw skills don't let me cut them really thin and smooth, but I can cut a little oversized and use this rig to even them out. Could also use it to square up blanks that aren't even.

Thanks again,

Steve

You are certainly not "A One Horse Jockey",
Between you, Evelyn and Woodcraft, no one knows what you will come up with next.
Terrific Work, Keep it Going.

Thank for the comment. I like trying new things and Evelyn is coming up with things she wants me to try and I have a bunch of cutouts that need to be glued up.
