I searched but couldn't find the answer. I thought I remember reading somewhere that when using the stylus tips only brass tubes will work. If this is correct, that means nickle tubes etc wouldn't work correct? Obviously I can paint the tubes so no worries there. I just wanted to verify since I have some nickle tubes at home and wanted to confirm that the stylus will not work if I use them.

My guess is that Nickel will be fine. It must be metal ( or at least able to conduct electricity) The touch on new smart device relies on capacitance, this mean it discharge a minute amount of static charge to determine that a "touch" has been made.

If the Stylus tip is 100 insulated from your hand via plastics tube/blanks no "touch" can register with the device.
