After getting the pen drill vice from rockler I finaly was able to complete this wall street II pen with out errors.
The previous atempts were not good due to woodcraft pen vice moving while drilling, causing the drill bit to enlarge the hole too much.
The pen blank would always blow apart on me when i was almost finished turning it. after looking at the blank blow up i relized that the hole drilled was too loose and not let the glue completely adhere to brass tube and wood.
this is when i decided the woodcraft pen vice would have to go. the rockler vice does not move.
once i get the right setup i will drill on lathe and see how that goes.
bethelam carob is the wood i used for this wallstreet II pen.
wondering if i should have used the gold pen instead but this is all i have.
what do you guys think?
