Here is my second attempt at making a 30-06 rifle shell using the bullet tip as the nib. upper barrel is from deer antler, finished with CA/ BLO . Finial and clip are from a Euro pen kit.

Nice, but I have a question.

Did you do something to the nib/bullet where it's pressed into the shell?

It looks crinkled?
That would be a crimp ring, usually seating to that point, not all bullets have then, most don't crimp rifle casings so it is not really neeeded. Without knowing, Id guess the bullet to be a Speer or Hornady. Could be others but those are the most used with the crimp ring.

On rifle bullets, the crimp ring is more of a seating guide than anything.

Actually, that is the way the bullet is made, its used as a reference line when reloading so you know how far to press it in the shell. The shells are Winchester brand and the bullets are Remington, both purchased at Cabelos. If they are supposed to be pressed in further, I chose to leave it showing.
