My wife was out of town visiting friends near St. Gabriel, LA. They live in the "100-mile house", which is exactly 100 miles up the Mississippi River. Anyway, she was telling the host about my pens, and he said he had something for me. She got home yesterday and asked me to get that "old wood" out of her car.
My jaw dropped..... She said that it was in one of the houses on his property that had a fire, and the wood was 150+ years old.
