So I ended up getting a supergrind 2000 for cheap on ebay.

This thing is a beast. It weighs almost 40 lbs and is clearly built to last. I need to get the skew jig and the gouge jig to get maximum use from it, but so far I am VERY impressed with it.

You will wear out before it does. I have two of them. One is set up with the regular stone and the second is set up with a Jap. wet stone and has another super fine stone. It put a polished edge on the chisel but would take a day to sharpen them. I bought both from EBay. Best way to use EBay is to be patient and wait until a machine comes to you at your price. No need to bid one up as they are on there all the time. One will sell for a low ball price about once every week. You can also pickup jigs if you are patient. Best to keep a search that is limited to Tormek auction only items. 99% of what is listed is retail from two EBay store sellers. They will come down a little in price if you email them.
