Went to onlinemetals and bought about 10 foot of various metals (and carbon rod) to try. Some 360 Brass and T3 Alum of course, but also some Copper and Bronze and Stainless. Should be here Friday.

To make sure my pseudo-metal lathe was up to snuff, I bought a grade large 8 bolt from Lowes and put it in the the collet chuck. I went slow, but I turned the hex portion into a round. The Brass and Alum should be a breeze compared to this.

Finally working my way to getting my prototypes done. Good thing I don't do deadlines.

I have planes to do this too. last week I ordered some solid copper rods, 48" long. Right now I have a total of about 10 foot of 360 brass rods to turn.

My plans are to make some solid copper and brass kitless pens. I just have been too lazy lately to turn any.
