Tight Tailstock in Nova DVR

The tailstock hand wheel has been getting more and more difficult to turn, so this morning I decided to see if I could free it up. I found a document on the Teknatool web site and in about 30 minutes cleaned the hard grease out and oiled and greased the tail stock. It works like a charm now.

"One of these days" I'm going to open the manual and follow the instructions for cleaning the tailstock quill/ram. I vaguely remember it said something about doing it periodically

(Unfortunately the link you gave to the support doc doesn't work. THIS LINK goes to a page with 2 PDFs, one for aligning the tailstock and the other is probably the one you found, for the Nova 3000 but I believe it's the same as the Nova 1624-44 in that respect.)
