Funny how things don't always turnout quite like you hope, especially when there is Kilns involved.

Photo 1. is my inspiration, a beautiful piece of York Gum Burl.
Photo 2. is what came out of the kiln this afternoon.

Problem with POTTERY is you never know what will happen in the kiln, unless you have a history of the particular glazes.

Never mind, there are a couple of people who like it.

C & C welcome.

Quite interesting piece Bob, I can see the resemblance or the lines of the original piece and quite frankly, I like it, I don't know what you were expecting and you seemed a little disappointed but, from here I set, that is a nice piece to exhibit, anywhere...!

PS: Can we say that, you can make "spalted glass"...? I believe most appropriated, huh...?

Cheers
George

My first measure of success in pottery is if the number of pieces coming out of the kiln equals the number than went in.

Everything after that is gravy.

Very nice piece!
