Wood Butcher
Local Chapter Leader
A couple of weeks ago I was privileged to work with a lady whom I have known for several years teaching her, as best I could, how to make a pen. She is the 106th person I have taught in a one on one situation. She is an accomplished woodworker and artist though new to turning. She was a attentive and charming student and is a most pleasant person I was a bit taken back by her choice of pen blanks, a rather plain piece of hard maple. She said she had plans to work with it after she got it home so we proceeded. She was a quick learner making a pen with good fit and finish. The photo is what she sent me after she applied her talents to the finished pen. She said she will be checking out the IAP site and at some point she will become a member. I certainly hope she does join our ranks so we can see more of her talent.
