These are the last two pens of 2009. The first is desert ironwood, using the Tycoon kit from PSI, with a BLO/CA finish. I'm still iffy about how the finish came out, but the wood is hellaciously beautiful.

The second pen, my last of the year, is The Vampire -- red and pearlescent acrylic, using the Tycoon kit with rhodium.

Great Pens... I think the finish looks great from the pic. I have not been able to get my BLO/CA finishes to come out right so I been putting a coat of CA and then use HUT Ultra Gloss on it, I put 4 or 5 coats of Hut on and the pens look awesome I dont know how it will hold up only time will tell.

I mainly opened the thread because I like ironwood so much. That pen is great, but the vampire steals the show in my eyes. It has nice, crisp colors and looks great.

The Vampire is a blank I bought from either Woodcraft or Penn State. Probably Penn State. I haven't advanced to the stage where I can make my own blanks yet.

Thank you all, and have a happy new year!
