Thanks to Classic Nib for the prize.

Jacaranda is native to tropical and sub-tropical Americas, especially Brazil and Argentina. Also grows in Asia and has been introduced into MANY countries where the Blue/mauve flowers create beautiful avenues.

I have to know that wood - every second planted tree in Pretoria is a Jacaranda tree - It actually called the Jacaranda City informally (although the government is trying hard to change the name to Tshwane). There's even rumors among students that in spring; if a Jacaranda flower falls on your head while walking in the street - you will pass your exams - figure that one!

Sure do John... Do yourself a favour; Google images of Pretoria... First 10 pics will have mauve lined streets - I promise they are pretty accurate pictures.
