I posted this Vertex Supreme fountain pen two days ago and got a relatively low number of views, 3 likes, and no comments. I thought this was a particularly nice looking blank and the Vertex fountain pen is not too shabby. Nobody else likes this pen?

It is a nice pen! I have seen a decline in views to lately, everyone must be gettting ready for shows this summer or something.

Great Job!

I missed your first posting of this pen.
I think you did a top notch job turning and finishing this pen.
Although the componet set doesn't do a lot for me personally, it is definetly a fine pen!

Steve, I like the blank and I like the pen kit, but not sure they were meant for each other.

Also, the mirror reflection is distracting. Just being honest !

Going back years ago there have been discussions on a shiny finished pen versus flat/matt/satin finish. In some cases, some woodworking purists refuse to add a shiny finish in order to reveal the real wood. That is OK, and I am one that prefers wood with only a waxed or rubbed on oil finish at the most - on most furniture objects; but not on pens. Shiny finishes will draw much more comments.

I tend to agree with some others. I like the blank, and I kind of like the kit. Your work is nice. But for me, the pen doesn't "go" together. All the components as individuals are nice, it just isn't appealing to my eye.

Keep up the nice work!

Don't see every post. Your pen looks great. Love the Vertex. Just finished this Vertex click.

I like the pen. Use of "worthless" wood always intrigues me.
I like the copper rings with the chrome hardware.

I made a vertex fountain pen using one of the Lighthouse inlays for myself a little while ago but I found I dont particularly care for the vertex fountain pen as the nib seems to dry up too fast. Maybe I just got a bad kit but the cap seems more loose than it should be. I've made several of Artisan Zen pens and the cap is very well fit.

I also missed your first posting but the pen is very nice.
