Ten Inch Spalted Apple Bowl

Just finished this one off. I used lacquer on this one for a finish rather than an oil finish because it was heavily spalted.

It had a knock your eye out shine which I really didn't care for so I knocked it back with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. .

Not just your everyday plain wood bowl. On top of that the wood was free. Gotta love free wood when it turns out like this.

Really nice looking bowl. I like the burned lines, they highlight the wood and create a nice draw into the spalted character of the wood.
