Ran across a nice twelve foot board of rough sawn 4/4 poplar at the local lumber store with some green coloring in it yesterday . Mixed some of it in with Purpleheart and African mahogany and wound up with this .

Poplar is the cheapest hardwood around here at $2.98 a board foot but amazingly some people love the coloring of bowls made from it even when using a single one piece board of it with no other kinds mixed in .

I might make a few more plain ones from that board to help build up my inventory again.

Beautiful work!

I like the poplar! A more figured wood may have resulted in a too "busy" piece. Nicely done.
