Here is a teaser for my next cherry bowl. Still on the lathe, no finish, need to cut off, sand the bottom and finish. I will share more when finished.

When you take it off your faceplate, do you jamb chuck it and turn the foot?

No, I use a parting tool and part it down as far as I can, cut it off with a hand saw, and sand it with a disc sander.
