I found a piece of an apple tree I cut down last year in the garage. I had it before I got into turning so I think it was for the barbeque, but I cut a section off & turned this tealight. It was starting to spalt & with the knots and the curve of the branch, I think it turned out pretty nice. It's finished with a blend of BLO, Denatured alcohol & shellac.

Thanks. I turned the hole. I can't remember exactly how deep it is but the metal rim of a tealight candle is right at the top of the hole. Since I'm at work now I'd say around 3/4 inch deep. It looks like a lot deeper in the photo.

Very nice piece of rescued fire wood. It's always neat to take a piece of wood from a trash pile and make something beautiful. Nice Job.
