I have recently started turning safety razors and have had a good response and I am now selling them in a store. The owner was wondering if it would be possible to do strait razors too. Anyways I have done the google search for a kit and I can't find one. I am looking at buying the blade and making a handle for it. does anyone have some info on this. Any help would be very much appreciated.

thank

You are opening a can of worms on this one. For one, you must be able to hone it to shave ready. And nobody make a kit for straights that is good. I pick up vintage straights and rescale them. Good luck on your endeavor!

There is one place I know of to buy a blade. Knifekits.com sells a damascus blade, but I think it's made in China. The cost is around $50.00 but you have to scale it and hone it.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Straight Razors is here:

Straight Razor Place - Welcome

But as EBorraga noted, the blade has to be honed on a regular basis.
I started my collection buying them on ebay and making the scales myself.
Since there are so many different types of razors out there, no kit will cover all of them.

Good luck.
