I made these "cookie stools" for my grandaughters, ages 2 and 4, for Christmas and a few of my bottle stoppers.

Love the stools. I am sure they will become heirlooms. Can you tell us a little bit about how you made them??? What parts is turned and how did you get the details in the top??? Is that relief carving and did you put a smooth top on it or fill it in with resins??? Thanks for showing.

John,

All the detail on the stools beside the basic cookie shape is artwork done by my wife in acrylics. She cut a mask for some of the detail on the top. Her talent made my somewhat mundane turnings into something special.

How cool! These stools are just the kind of thing your granddaughter will hang onto forever, to be displayed in their own home and share with their children, when that time arrives. You ROCK, grandpa!

Nice stools-I did a double take when I first saw them. I like the coins in the stoppers-after buying the last batch of conchos I may switch to coins-I think they are about the same price!

You have 2 lucky Granddaughters!
I love the way you use so many different shapes with your bottle stoppers, they all look good. What type of wood are the 2 red stoppers from?

I really like the bottle stoppers different shapes. Nice lines. Beautiful work.
The stools are great. I have two daughters 24 and 14 and they would be as excited to get them as I bet your granddaughters. Oreos are the best cookies in the world according to them. Tell your wife that her work is amazing. I felt like I could dip them in milk.
