Got these in the mail yesterday and prepped them. Turned them today. Got the starter kit so I had all 4 platings - Oil Rubbed Bronze, Chrome, Antique Pewter, and Gun Metal. The barrels are African Blackwood, meant to simulate railroad ties ... only smoother.

The picture in the instructions showed the barrel turned slightly proud of the bushings and curving down to fit the pen parts. I liked that so I made mine (Bronze) that way. The other 3 are gifts so I turned them to the bushing diameter. The 2nd one is upside down so the clip is visible. It's supposed to look like train tracks. I'm not sure how useful the clip will be, but I don't expect to carry this pen clipped in my shirt pocket very often. It's heavy, but has a good feel in the hand.

Thanks for following up on the topic. Nice work on the pen turning part. The kit does not float my boat but no reflection on you. Thanks for showing.
