I made this because I think The Pollyanna Burl wood is beautiful and fits nicely with this Spring Blossom kit. Sanded to 2500,4 coats CA, polished with Hut plastic polish. All comments are always welcome and thanks for looking.
I have been using the craft foam sheets for quite awhile and really like them.
No sticking to finger
Last for multiple pens
Smoother coating
Cheaper than towels
Easy to get at Hobby Lobby
CA beads up for better coating rather than being absorbed in the towel
Cut them into 1" strips by 4".
I bought one of these kits several years ago, but could never the right wood to do it justice. This burl wood looks very good though, if I can find something similar. Bearing in mind that I am looking at it on an old small iPad screen, are the sides of the barrel and cap straight though please or do they have a slight curve on them, as I still on that part of my learning curve?
Thank you all for your comments. Magpens, what Flyitfast said is exactly right on the money. I use to use paper towels and always got a poor finish but since I use the foam the CA finish is just the best. Tonyw the sides of the cap and barrel are straight on this pen.
Thanks again.
