This was fun, if you feel like increasing the pucker factor make one of these pens, turned straight Bushing to bushing out of some very old, very dry, very soft Spalted Maple. there is less wood than I remember there being on a slimline, actually only about .015 thickness of wood, according to the bushings. I would make a real light pass with my handy dandy Woodchuck then soak the bugger in CA I was amazed that the wood stayed together, this is the first of these pens I've ever done and all things considered it may be the last. I'm not a big fan of snap caps any way and the refills on these doesn't appear to have been well thought out, it just slips in to a socket on the inside of the lower finial, but it is an unusual little pen, I have a few more of them I may try some fat pregnant ones.Sorry about the lousy pictures can't find my tripod.

You did a great job with it. It looks sharp!. I agree with your comments about the kit.
