spalted maple bowl

prettiest piece of spalted maple I have ever seen..bowl is about 7high and 9 wide..lacquer finish ..this picture does not do it justice

Very Beautiful wood and bowl!!! I just destroyed a great looking Spalted Cherry bowl.

I just meant that I don't know what a stacked ring bowl is or what the question meant that asked if the rings were turned on the lathe. From the picture, it looks like the bowl is made from a plank of wood that was cut into sections, stacked and glue, then turned. I was wondering if I missed something.

just as I said ON The Lathe..stacked ring bowls are just what they sound like..flat board...cut into rings..stacked & turned...many articles avail to learn about this process ..it is different and SAVES TONS OF WOOD..the only drawback is the shape of the bowl produced...not much margin for shape...this bowl was cut out of a 12x12 x3/4 inch piece of flat board...wayyyy less expensive than a 12x12x10 chunk of wood
