prettiest piece of spalted maple I have ever seen..bowl is about 7high and 9 wide..lacquer finish ..this picture does not do it justice

I love stacked-ring bowls.
I have yet to try one, did you cut the rings on or off the lathe?

just as I said ON The Lathe..stacked ring bowls are just what they sound like..flat board...cut into rings..stacked & turned...many articles avail to learn about this process ..it is different and SAVES TONS OF WOOD..the only drawback is the shape of the bowl produced...not much margin for shape...this bowl was cut out of a 12x12 x3/4 inch piece of flat board...wayyyy less expensive than a 12x12x10 chunk of wood
