I got this piece of heavily spalted and wormy Hackberry from a guy in Georgia and cut it up, dried it out and stabilized it. This is what the first piece looks like. It is on a Jr. Gent 2 Black Titanium Hardware set..

Good looking pen Mike. What is it finished with? I use CA but mine comes out lighter. I still have some I got from MO that I haven't stabilized yet and 4 of my Hackberrys (Spalted) came down in storms this year. They can be pretty.

The work on that pen looks like you have done this for a while. or haha

Guessing the 'stabilizing agent' made it a 'bit' darker? No matter, the components you matched it with just works!

Nicely done....on everything!!!

I would say between the stabilizing and my finishing method it could have darkened things up just a bit. I don't use CA I use Doctors WoodShop Pen finish but I have my own way of using it.
