Even a professional makes mistakes. More important, when you don't know what you are doing, something bad is going to happen.
Last but not least, mother nature always seems to have the last laugh.

I did that kind of work when I was a young man. There are a thousand ways to get seriously injured or killed doing that work, some of them not the fault of the man with the saw. Very dangerous line of work.

Yes, I have seen videos of tress spinning when cut and noone knows where it will go. Actually I think that knowing where a tree will land and even what it will do when cut is really an educated guess, and most loggers are real educated in this.
