I read in another forum when I was looking up some information regarding platings used for pen kits and I came upon a post where someone was complaining about Platinum plating wearing off very quickly. I will give this warning for what it is worth. If you are tempted to offer platinum be sure to ask your supplier what alloy is called "platinum" in their offerings. Some Platinum kits are made using alloys that have no platinum or rhodium - I got burned once - the alloy was called platinum but it was actually 14.4 Carat white gold....nice but with wear properties like gold. At least a few companies still calls that platinum and so do sellers of their product --- you ever see anyone offering "white gold"?
