Just wanted to try something new this weekend.

This, I think, is birdseye maple. I used pieces parts from a Roman Harvest kit.

The body recesses into the cap about an eighth of an inch or less. I'm very pleased with the way everything lined up. The insetting of the clip was a bit of a pain, but It worked out ok.

Here's to keeping the creative juices flowing!!

You could not have picked a better looking piece of wood. Man that has character. I like the shape and im glad you didn't dye it. Looks perfect natural. Great job lining everything up.

That could not have been easy! The clip insert looks like it gave you a bit of a fit. Couple of high five for that effort!!!

It's a recovery from a mistake actually. I had no intention of cutting the cap. I was going to do a clip less and I just went into the shop when i was tired, grabbed the cap piece, measured and cut it!. I've cleaned it up a bit since the photo.
