I like number 9. What kind of finish did you use on these. It is defiantly not as shiny as some of the other pens on here, but at the same time keeps it looking like wood.

I like number 9. What kind of finish did you use on these. It is defiantly not as shiny as some of the other pens on here, but at the same time keeps it looking like wood.

Some years ago I only used cellulosic sealer + carnauba wax applied directly on the wood with a stick of pure carnauba.

Now (method 1) on close grain woods I use cellulosic sealer followed by the Beall buff process: tripoli (sometimes) + white diamond + carnauba wax.

On open grain woods I "CAsand" * (wood's sanding dust on 180grit sanding cloth + a few drops of fine CA) the wood 0,2 to 0,3mm (0,008" to 0,012") before the final diameter. After sanding the excess, the wood is sanded to the final diameter and this process is then followed by method 1.
