thanks for the nice things said about my pens..i've only been turning for a couple of months but over all i think there turning out good....i liked the Manhattan pen but not the click pen...the clip seems like it will fall off in time and Chicago pens are fun to make but seem a little short to me...very easy to make...steve

OK doing this to help not be cruel........they are all over turned. Your trying to turn too closely to the bushings and by the time you finish sanding the fit is off. Some of the pens are sanded beyond the bushings leaving a double curve to the body, it should be one smooth line. Try leaving a bit more material before sanding and finish to meet the bushing. My pens looked just like that at 2 months, keep up the good work, spend a bunch of time in the IAP library and ask for critiques! Peer review by the good folks here is absolutely the best way to learn but they are overly polite. You have to ask, or all you get is "great looking pens".......

Good choice of blank to go with hardware. I would recommend that you get a set of calipers because bushings are rarely the same size as the hardware. The Manhattan with the black and silver is a classy looking pen. Also on most acrylic blanks you need to paint the inside of the blank so the brass tube doesn't show. Keep up the good work and looking forward to your next pen.
