In addition to well over 200 pens I display a variety of other items people can buy. I have been asked for wood coasters and there will be many sets for sale soon. The addition of a small jointer has reduced any gaps to zero and throughput is much faster for cutting boards and items like these coasters. They are 4" square and around 3/8" thick. I make them with 4/4 stock and use the resaw king to resaw them in half.
Though not visible, they are very smooth, water resistant and have lots of shine. I used several coats of wipe-on poly, sanded to 1200 grit and buffed with all three buffs in a Beale Buffing System. The polyurethane and carnuba wax should help any liquid bead up nicely.
