Snake Id??? Maybe???

HI people,
I was wondering if anyone would by chance happen to recognize this species of snake? It was brought to me by my neighbor who found it in the street. The snake had apparently been run over and wasnt dead yet so he took a 22 to the thing and put it out of its misery. It sits in my Freezer(along with 4-5 other snakes that were around my place) waiting for some time for me to skin it and tan it. My wife hates it. Everytime she goes to the freezer she thinks we have sausage.....Hehe

I believe I am correct in say it's a Deadus Snakus. Notice how the intestines are protruding from the side, it's a dead give-away. :tongue:

Honestly, I'm guessing maybe a Texas Night Snake, possibly a Texas Brown Snake. http://www.texassnakes.net/pictures.html If the belly is yellow, then it may be a Yellow Bellied Racer.

being from farther up north (indiana) i can definitly say it's a frozen snake......around here my wife calls them HOLY ****!!!!! didn't know that species existed till i met her..........bear

Looks like a whipsnake, related to garter snakes/racers etc. Non poisonous; eats rodents etc.
