Contestant #3 The pen is 19 inches long and separates at the top of the gold painted nib to access the refill. A normal slimline is shown for scale and is not an entry in the contest.

And now, behind door #7. A pocket cigar, no clip and using a mini-refill. The slimline parts are the transmission and finial.

Oops, contestant #17 had to withdraw. Actually it was my mistake (I could blame it on my spam filter, but still my fault), This should not have been removed, so here it is again - Teacher's pen kit using black and clear PR.

And here is Contestant #20. The pen is made from a single piece of African Blackwood and uses the tubes, nib, transmission and Cross refill. The refill extends by twisting the nib.

Contestant #23, a pen made from sawdust, and in the words of the maker "I cast it in an "ICE Tube" using thick CA and a popsicle stick to stir and pack it with."
