I've made about a dozen longline (exotics) and/or sleekline(berea) pens. I find the "slimline " mechanisms superior to the slimline pens offered . Two questions: are these mechanisms (Taiwan ) useable with traditional slimline kits? (They are significantly shorter than traditional ). And can you buy just the mechanisms as replacements for slimline kits? Thanks for your help, john

The transmissions are shorter because the lower barrel is longer (or conversely, the lower barrel is longer because the mechanism is shorter!) I would think you would have to cut longer tubes for the lower barrels in a standard kit.

The longer mechanisms work in both shorter(slimline) and longer(designer) 7 mm tube kits. I was just wondering (thought someone may have already tried/measured) if the shorter mechanisms can also be used with both as well. Thanks, john
