Hi,

So it’s still really cold here, well not so much today and the snow has been melting a bit. :D

I got a thought to go out to the shop and do an inventory on some kits and found a few I had forgotten about, these shop pencils. Well This led to That and before I knew it I was drilling out some blanks to use up these two kits, …awe what the heck, I’ll just turn them and get them out of the way…[:0]

This a stabilized buckeye burl

Jim the pencils look great I like the shop pencils how they show off the wood and your wood looks great. I am going to post a link to a picture same kit with a twist.

I put a tube in it and added a chrome nut for a final. Just a thought I love good looking wood.

Bruce, I like your isea but I feel It looks a little cumbersome.
And Jim< of course the shape makes them more pleasing to the eye! What I meant to say is that they are vry plesasing to the eye as the line makes them look quite slender.

Hi Dave,

Well the blanks I chose happened to be stabilized, I buy them that way...I seldom turn unstabilized wood at all, I like the density it gives and the durability.
