I may be over thinking this but can I put a maybe metal wood combo Celtic knot into an acrylic blank.

I need a silvery or white blank for a pen and just can't think of a good wood I can get at say Rockler or Woodcraft that is kind of grey.

I've been very successful with wood in wood but never into acrylic. Thinking of a Al dyed veneer Al insert.

I have been working with Gabe's method of segmenting, my first one I was about to show you, but a window pops up and asks for my url ? what is that?

Although CA is a viable option, I prefer epoxy for mixed materials.
CA has a low sheer strength. Epoxy has some flex and doesn't tend to release as easily as it gets warm during the process of making a pen.

Epoxy has worked well for me in many situations, and I use it exclusively.
Others may have success with CA, but it has it's limitations.
