My niece asked me to make her a rolling pin. Her maiden name is Ash so I made an ash sandwich with slices of yellowheart and purpleheart.

Very nice Cody, can u give us some details on how this was turned? I was curious as to how you held the piece on the lathe to accomplish both turned ends.

I cut my blank an inch or so longer than the rolling pin and turn the rolling pin leaving about 3/8 of inch diameter at each end of the pin, cut the ends off, and finish shaping the ends with a disc sander and hand sanding. I use a drive center and a live center in the tailstock.

You can't just post a picture of a rolling pin. Rolling pins must be verified by baked goods.
