Second Stone Pen

Here is my second try at alabaster stone this time I used tiger eye. so far the stone is holding up well. I have used one daily and have drop it several times so far no chips or cracks. As always your input will be welcomed as I always learn some thing

Very nice work. Was drilling or turning a problem? I've been reluctant to try alabaster, but at the same time I keep looking at alabaster samples.

Alabaster is soft so I used my standard wood bits. tried masonry bit and the stone just broke apart

Beautiful job! Just curious, but what other types of stone can be turned with wood tools?

Soap stone is on i am going to try
that is it as far as I know but I keep looking

I saw a desk plaque made out of a desert sand stone, the guy used a router to engrave the name. Now you've got me looking for stone blanks to go with the wood ones. When will it end?[]
