Started this during the week using the CA/BLO technique (I have just used CA on it's own before). Found a lovely piece of Mahogany but coming on to the end of the turning process - plick!! and out flew a piece of the edge near the bushing. Luckily I found it and tried to fix the piece but no joy.

Soo...this morning, I recovered the blank and started over. Unfortunately, the new piece of Mahagany was not as nice, but hey..practice.

So here it is .. my Saturday morning Gatsby. (Have to work on my photo props and technique).

The 'bump' is a little 'thick' for my tastes, is there any way you can turn the blank around(flip it end for end)....I'm thinking it would fit the kit better with the thicker side of the 'bump' towards the clip end.

Nice timber with some nice shimmering effect happening...very neat!

Scott (congrats on the CA/BLO too) B
