Sandpaper

I know a lot of you use regular sandpaper, and not the wet or dry black paper. Where I live here in PA the local Lowes, Home Depot do not carry the regular type of sandpaper above 240 grit. To get anything finer I have to go to the wet or dry paper.
My question is, where can I get the finer paper. If it is in sheets that is fine, I don't mind cutting it. I know you can get some stuff through some of the vendors that is on a roll. But it seems a little high.
Any suggestions that you have would be greatly appreciated.

Go to your nearest auto paint store. They will have wet or dry paper to almost any grit you want.

Woodcraft will carry sheets of paper up to 600 grit. Don't forget about M.M. I sand to four hundred and then go to Micro Mesh. Works well for me. Just my 2 pennys.

Pens of Color has started carrying all grits of sandpaper. They go from 150-12000. Price is good for the pack.

good quality, low price, I have used their sanding medium for years.

I bought packs of the 800,1000 and 1200. I stack cut them in 1" strips with a sharp utility knife and then I used some small spring clamps to hold each individual grit together and I hung them just above my lathe. Makes it really easy to reach up and pull one strip down, sand and move to the next grit.
