"Saints" Pen!

Hi All,


My brother in law turns 50 in a couple of weeks, and I decided to make him a special pen.


He is a big Southampton FC fan, and goes to all the home games. There colours are Red and Wfite stipes, so I used Pau Rosa, and some sycamore.


Glied it up at the weekend, and turned it today. Pretty pleased with the end result, although the pen doesn't match exactly at the sides, but still looks good. Need to square of the blank better before drilling.


Any comments welcome.

I like it. Mock Orange might work better for the white, but I think he'll like it.

Very cool, like the small, basic stand.

One suggestion, try and center the stand before cutting it. I think it would better if the stand had the same look on both sides. Either a thin strip of the red or the white, so long as it's symetrical. But that may just be my anal side. No, not that anal side...

Stand is fairly sturdy, and holds the pen well.



I agree that the pen and stand would benefit from being more symmetrical, with matching sides.
