Got this piece on eBay. Hoping for no cracks while it dries. Should come out pretty if all "turns" out well.

Looks good, got that piece from Joel on the Big Island ? Is it your first tiem to turn Avocado ? I got a piece last year and made my bride a bowl for Christmas. It was not a natural edge but it came out really nice when finished. I will have to post a picture of it.

I thought it would have looked greener... and mushy... but taste good...:island:

Oh, beautiful bowl! Probably can hold your chips... when you make some guacamole!

WOW that looks great. I really like the last few where it looks like branches growing out through the wood. Let us know how the drying goes.

There were two branches going out of each side of the blank but the photos don't really show them. Checked it the other day and no cracks so far. The bark is holding fast as well. I turned it in the middle of September so its only been a couple weeks though. Time will tell.

Yep, Joel in Hawaii and first piece of Avocado ever. Turned real easy though.
