I like working with rosewood but it does sand away in a hurry. Save that keychain, it will be a reminder of how far you have come. Nobody regrets saving their first pen. As you may have noticed bushings sometimes lie. It is best to use a set of calipers and measure the actual pen (or keychain) parts. Finish looks good, no scratches and is uniform. I would saw that you are off to a good start.

Welcome from suburban Chicago, Steve. Noticed on your profile that you love wood. Then you have picked the right hobby. As others will tell you, the more you turn, the more hooked you will get. First key chain is a good start. Enjoy.

Well done! Got the bug yet?! :)

As others have said, keep it. It's fun to look back. So, what are you thinking of for your next turning?
