River Rhino Horn Turning & Finishing Advice

I have an order for at least 1 30 cal with River Rhino Horn.
I really wish my client chose a kit with a longer blank...but that is what she wants.

Anyway, any advice on turning and finishing.....same as acrylic?

I have only turned acrylic, resin, and wood....so that is my frame of reference.

Make sure to tell your customer that "natural products MAY crack".

Tony, I've finished mine just like acrylic. Each horn will have it's own unique characteristics. I've had some that were completely black and smooth, others had gray strands running through it and eventually you will feel the "cracks" or "fibers".

Thank you. I am charging $70 for it, but I will let her know before hand. I figure that I may have to turn 3 or 4 before getting it right.
