Since I destroyed the first three Afgan pine cones, the only right thing to do is to cast them. (http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76115).

I was pleasantly surprised to see the pattern/texture once the blank was turned.

The kit is Sierra Elegant Beauty black titanium and titanium gold.

I mixed in a pinch of Pearl-Ex mica (JACU656) in the PR for about a minute before I added the MEKP. Then I added the pine cone scales and stirred in the mixture gently.

Turned and sanded it to 600 grit. Applied with 6 coats of medium CA and buffed with ultra-fine steel wool between coats (I think I finally got the method correctly), and finished with HUT twice.
