Foul-up? not me! However, I have recently had occasion remove some brass tubes that were CA'd inside some nasty and uncooperative blanks!!!(the blanks were cocobolo and had been turned to a too slim-line profile) It occurred to me that I was not going to 'mechanically' get them out; I needed chemical assistance. So...
I packed all the tube filled blanks into a suitable sized plastic pill container and topped it up with acetone to cover all. Two hours later I attacked the blanks with a 'box opener' knife and peeled the wood off the blank!
Then I sanded the blanks with 100 grit paper. I can now use them as new!
Problem is..now I only use ploayura..watchamacalit...glue to secure the blanks. Better by a mile!! I have no idea how to reclaim those blanks
