This one has actual Mica flakes in it, and I used only red transparent tint. Someone mentioned earlier you could just use less opaque dye and you would end up with the same transparency. That was not my experience. I wanted to be able to see all the way through. I painted the tubes, the inside of the blank, and tinted the epoxy, all creating a wall for the transparent color to stop at, but basically it's like looking through red glass to see all the mica. It's exactly what I was looking to do, although next time I'll put more in to fill the more empty spots. It's also the most deeply, purely RED pen I've ever made-like the coating on a candy apple.
Anyway, comments and critiques are welcome!
